2021: Dealing with Covid
Presuming that infections in the nation have fallen and everyone who wishes to attend the Table Rock Workshop this year can show proof of vaccination, we are going to work closely with Wildacres Retreat to provide a safe and satisfying worksop this year.
We are happy to answer any questions you have about the preparations, but here is what we know right now. We may have the entire Wildacres Retreat to ourselves or there may be another small group in residence. We will offer single rooms at no extra charge to every participant. If you are willing to room with another participant (a spouse or partner or member of your household), you can. We will ask that you bring your own pillow this year, also.
All linens will be professionally cleaned between groups as always. Staff will not enter guest rooms once they are cleaned, until a guest's stay is over and the room is ready to be reset.
Wildacres is planning to use a bio-based disinfectant to clean classrooms, the auditorium, and public bathrooms daily. Hand sanitizer will be available in all meeting spaces.
Meals will be served cafeteria style by the kitchen staff so that you don't handle anything but your own plate, cup, and utensils.
We may take our meals with fewer individuals per table, with extra tables set up as needed on the balcony of the dining hall and possibly on an outside deck that is covered. We will follow all state guidelines on this practice.
Without exception, social distancing and mask wearing will be in place at all times.
Class size will be approximately 10 per group or less, and we will space our chairs appropriately.
While the Solatido Singer/Songwriters will not be with us this year, we will plan to enjoy music on the patio outdoors. The social hour will be hosted and served by persons wearing gloves to avoid multiple touches of bottles, etc.
For our group readings, we will either clean the podium between readers, or ask that you simply stand near the microphone without a podium.
In the auditorium we will mark seats to space out the group. We will not have a group concert and will not invite the local community on Thursday night this year.
Please feel free to be in touch via email with questions, and we will do our best to keep you informed as this dynamic situation evolves. Because of the space constraints, it is important to let us know you want to come ASAP.
